Just a little update

Hey everyone, how are we all?

If everything goes to plan, I should be more active blogging-wise by the end of this month.

I’m avoiding social media as much as I can, only checking it a few minutes a day. Ive just found these last few months so overwhelming, which I’m sure everyone has.

Along with a huge change in our lives, I guess it’s just been difficult for me to focus, or think straight.

But I’m doing okay, I’ve had some really low days but things are starting to look brighter, including the weather, so that’s a bonus!

Ewan should be going back to work this month, it’s been lovely having him home (shielding) with me for the last 10 weeks, even though he’s been bored out of his mind.

Only been out for hospital appointments and blood tests. Most appointments have been done over the phone but there were some that we really needed to attend.

Went to Addenbrooke’s yesterday for my first blood test which tests for tumours, due to that faulty gene I have. Fingers crossed all is okay!

I’ll admit, I’ve lost confidence in blogging, because I’ve been away for a while, and I’m finding it hard to get back into. I’m not abandoning my blog, Undercover Superhero is a very big part of me and I will blog for as long as I am able to.

I might just ramble for now, just to get me back into the swing of things. Will see how things go.

See you in a few weeks!

Hey fellow superheroes! I'm Ami, I'm 24 and I live in Norfolk, UK. On my blog, UndercoverSuperhero, I openly talk about my recovery journey which stemmed from being in hospital and a specialist neurological rehabilitation centre for 9 months. I talk about how I maintain a positive mindset whilst coming to terms with my disability. I love superheroes, so much so that my partner and I are having a superhero themed wedding! I generally like to talk about anything and everything on my blog, I also have an ongoing series called "The Reality of..." which allows readers and bloggers to raise awareness of the disabilities, mental illnesses, chronic illnesses, impairments, that they live with as it is so important to raise awareness! Everybody has a voice! πŸ’š

  1. I’m feeling that sense of overwhelm with the news and everything going on in the world lately, too. I think that taking some time out and limiting your exposure to the news and social media is a really good idea. Hopefully you can continue to do that, even when you get back to blogging a bit more. Sounds like it’ll be another re-adjustment with Ewan heading back to work again but hopefully his workplace will have safety precautions in place and you’ll have enough things to distract yourself and keep you comfortable at home.

I really, really hope those blood test results come back negative and all good. Keep us posted?

As for returning to blogging, try not to put too much pressure on yourself. I can understand losing some confidence when you come out of it for a bit but from my perspective, you needn’t worry. You’ve got the blogging biz under control, it’s a walk/roll in the park (metaphorically speaking, don’t think either have us have been for a leisurely park outing in a long time!) Your readers will be here whenever you fancy posting, it’ll be like picking up where you left off whether you post a few times a week or once every two months; do what suits you and make sure you look after your own needs first.

    Sending hugs,
    Caz xx

    1. Thank you Caz. I will definitely write an update when I get my results. It’s not Ewan that I’m worried about so much, he works in retail and its other people’s stupidity I’m concerned about.

No I’ve not been out for a leisurely wheel since… well ffuck knows πŸ˜‚ my next outing is 26th june, I say outing I mean appointment. This one is expected to take up to 3 hours but it’s for a good reason. If I’ve made you curious, send me a message because I can’t say anymore than that for now πŸ˜¬πŸ˜¬πŸ’š
