Hey everyone, how have you been?
I mentioned in my recent update that I would restart my monthly round ups this month… spoiler alert – not much happened! So, this post will be short and sweet… unless I ramble… we shall see!
Some Nice Photos
I had to take, well Ewan did, some pictures of myself for Scope (will explain more in due time). Its very rare that I find photos of myself that I actually like, so imagine my surprise when I saw them and LOVED them!

I couldn’t resist the t-shirt… obviously! Plus, I love how my hair looks too!
Glucose Test
The Glucose Test is commonly taken during pregnancy as it tests for Gestational Diabetes. It involves blood tests and having a glucose drink – every mum that I have spoken to has said the drink is horrible.
So, I was dreading it! BUT due to all the medication I am on, it would have caused problems as I wouldn’t have been able to eat at least 8 hours before the test, and a further 2 hours until the final blood sample had been taken.
Not eating for that length of time would mean increased shaking, lack of concentration especially when transferring, fatigue, etc. So, thankfully, I was exempt from having the drink and only needed a standard blood test.
At this appointment, I got to hear our baby’s heartbeat… and I mean I actually heard it! The midwife put the doppler (a device which can detect a baby’s heartbeat) on the loudest volume, I couldn’t hear from a distance but she let me hold the device close to my ear.
Little Avenger is a thumper!
I also found out that, somehow, I’ve managed to lose a bit of weight – even though baby girl is growing! No complaints here!
Pregnancy Milestone
On Monday 27th July, I became 24 weeks pregnant – which is also known as the viability week. This means if Little Avenger was to make an appearance now, her chances of survival would be higher than if she were to be born before 24 weeks.
*I’m not a medical professional, just sharing my experience and what I’ve been told by midwives.
I now realise that this post only consists of pregnancy updates…
What’s Happening in August?
We are buying a cot this week! Gosh, I’m so excited to finally get it! I’m, hopefully, going to attempt a trip to Primark this month, well preferably soon before bump gets any bigger otherwise I won’t be able to see my feet!
To be on the safe side, we will be packing our hospital bag/small suitcases. Best to be prepared, plus its one less thing for me to worry about nearer the time. I’m thinking about writing a post about a hospital bag checklist.
Towards the end of the month, we have our 28 week midwife appointment and 28 week scan (2 separate appointments but in the same week). So excited to see Little Avenger again!
August seems to be a busier month so am looking forward to it!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! You’re pregnant?! Oh my goodness. Wow! I’m so excited. Ah, this has just made my day. I had come to tell you I had nominated you for the Blogger Recognition Award and I ran into this. Wow, wow, wow. Oh, I hope everything’s been going well for you and Ewan. This is such great news. ππππ

Thanks Annlyel! Long time no speak! I’ve been missing your posts and only discovered yesterday, I don’t know what happened, but I no longer followed you! So I quickly changed that and am following you again, must be a glitch or something. Thank you for the nomination – look forward to catching up with your posts and perfect timing too, I saw The Secret War has resumed, which is by far by my favourite fan fiction of yours! π

Yeah, I’m kind of revisiting the story and tweaking it because I may have some new ideas to add or can hone conceptualize the story plot points better.
Once again, I’m so happy for you. I’ve missed our conversations for sure but I figured you’ve been busy. Love talking with you again.

I absolutely love the pictures of you cradling your baby in your belly and the Wonder Woman picture on the T-shirt! Does that mean you’re going to name her Diana after the Wonder Woman character? That’s just a joke, but you know you are the undercover superhero π

Best of luck Ami, π the photos. Glad you didn’t have to have the drink. I get shakier when I don’t eat for awhile too. Not a nice feeling! Cannot wait Little Avenger makes an appearance.

I am so excited to get to come along for this pregnancy. You look glowing, proving that the baby is doing wonders for you. Is there some concern that she will come early?

Thanks Elizabeth! Glad to have you with me on this journey! Not as far as we know, I’m just paranoid as I’ve read that quite a few mums have given birth recently, anywhere from 24 weeks. I know every pregnancy is different but I’d rather be packed and prepared! π

That is a relief. I didn’t know if it was more likely because of your health challenges.

Agree. Me and my sister were born at 29 weeks. But even at that stage and earlier babies are fighters.

The only thing I’m concerned about is not being able to walk or transfer and need to be taken to hospital. So, I will speak to my midwife and see if there can be something put into place like being monitored weekly or something. As soon as I know anything I will update you all ππ

Good. Even with a normally functioning body, I found it difficult to walk at the end!
