July 2022 Round Up

Photoshoot

This has been planned since around February this year, and I wanted some decent photos of me for my blog(s) and I’m really happy with them!

We went to Cambridge as that’s where Diane (photographer) is based, plus she knew of some really good spots to get some photos in. You might notice a few other people in the photos too… except the cow (I’ll explain…)

So more about that cow… we were having photos taken beside the river and everybody starts talking about this cow. I couldn’t see it but assumed it was a statue but no, it was a real-life cow, just chilling under a tree by the river.

Like… what?? Where’d it even come from? There were loads of people and I really was taken aback by how chill it was. I honestly don’t know how I missed it at first because it was a massive cow! On our way back, we went past the cow again and it was lying on the grass, it was really content just watching people walk past.

I got a little closer and just stared at it… it’s not really something you witness every day, you know? Ewan actually went up and patted the cow, and it shoved his hand away (I chuckled), when Ewan walked off, the cow started rolling in the grass like a dog does, on its back and everything. Never have I been so captivated by a cow… and yes, I did wave to it when we left.

Amazon Prime Day

I attempted my first Amazon Prime Day as an affiliate and it was a massive flop as I overdid it and then both my pages broke which left me exhausted and I had no energy to promote anything so I gave up.

I was intending to create 4 separate pages – for disabled people, for parents, for Marvel fans, and for bloggers and content creators. By the time I’d finished the second, I was really tired. But when someone emailed me to say my pages weren’t displaying as they should, I broke down in tears.

Dramatic? Probably, but I had worked so hard to get these pages done in time and for it all to break, it completely drained me. Lesson learned the hard way.

Tom Hiddleston’s Going To Be A Daddy!

I literally squealed when I saw photos of his fiance, Zawe Ashton attending an event, wearing a stunning dress with a big baby bump!

I’m so excited for them, and the first thing I remembered when I saw the photos was a YouTube video from years ago of Tom saying how he can’t wait to read The Jungle Book (I think it was The Jungle Book) to his kid… and soon he can do that! Oh, how my heart swooned!

Loneliness

It’s taken me a while to admit this out in the open but I’ve been feeling very lonely. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve reached out to different people over the past few months and not heard back from them. Then I see them interacting with loads of other people and it just makes me think I’ve done something wrong.

I don’t want pity, I’m just tired of bottling this up.

Loneliness is fucking horrible.

What’s Happening in August?

Surprise announcement… I’m bringing Undercover Superhero back to it’s core – a platform to raise awareness, share stories and share monthly updates. I was foolish to try and turn this blog into something it’s not.

So, I’m going to create 2 additional blogs – one for my digital products and a shop attached, and one for blogging. I’ve upgraded my plan with Lyrical Host so I can now host 3 sites. More on that in the coming months.

Speaking of Lyrical Host, in their Facebook Group, me and Holly Tuke are doing a month-long residency on Online Accessibility! Both nervous and excited, will share an update on how it went at the end of August.

I’ve got an appointment with my neurologist so hopefully, I’ll get some clarity about that bloody discharge report from London. Plus my neurologist (the one I like) will get to meet Daisy and so will a few members of staff from the stroke ward I was on for 2 months. I’m really looking forward to seeing them!

Superhero Tri is on the 20th! Ewan’s doing the swimming part, we’re cycling together (this should be interesting as I’ve not been on a bike since all this happened…), and then I’ll be wheeling in my powerchair for the last part and hopefully, I’ll have enough energy to walk across the finish line!

How’s July been for you?
