Hey everyone, how have you been?
I mentioned in my recent update that I would restart my monthly round ups this month… spoiler alert – not much happened! So, this post will be short and sweet… unless I ramble… we shall see!
Some Nice Photos
I had to take, well Ewan did, some pictures of myself for Scope (will explain more in due time). Its very rare that I find photos of myself that I actually like, so imagine my surprise when I saw them and LOVED them!

I couldn’t resist the t-shirt… obviously! Plus, I love how my hair looks too!
Glucose Test
The Glucose Test is commonly taken during pregnancy as it tests for Gestational Diabetes. It involves blood tests and having a glucose drink – every mum that I have spoken to has said the drink is horrible.
So, I was dreading it! BUT due to all the medication I am on, it would have caused problems as I wouldn’t have been able to eat at least 8 hours before the test, and a further 2 hours until the final blood sample had been taken.
Not eating for that length of time would mean increased shaking, lack of concentration especially when transferring, fatigue, etc. So, thankfully, I was exempt from having the drink and only needed a standard blood test.
At this appointment, I got to hear our baby’s heartbeat… and I mean I actually heard it! The midwife put the doppler (a device which can detect a baby’s heartbeat) on the loudest volume, I couldn’t hear from a distance but she let me hold the device close to my ear.
Little Avenger is a thumper!
I also found out that, somehow, I’ve managed to lose a bit of weight – even though baby girl is growing! No complaints here!
Pregnancy Milestone
On Monday 27th July, I became 24 weeks pregnant – which is also known as the viability week. This means if Little Avenger was to make an appearance now, her chances of survival would be higher than if she were to be born before 24 weeks.
*I’m not a medical professional, just sharing my experience and what I’ve been told by midwives.
I now realise that this post only consists of pregnancy updates…
What’s Happening in August?
We are buying a cot this week! Gosh, I’m so excited to finally get it! I’m, hopefully, going to attempt a trip to Primark this month, well preferably soon before bump gets any bigger otherwise I won’t be able to see my feet!
To be on the safe side, we will be packing our hospital bag/small suitcases. Best to be prepared, plus its one less thing for me to worry about nearer the time. I’m thinking about writing a post about a hospital bag checklist.
Towards the end of the month, we have our 28 week midwife appointment and 28 week scan (2 separate appointments but in the same week). So excited to see Little Avenger again!
August seems to be a busier month so am looking forward to it!
