Bloganuary Day 14

Write About A Challenge You Faced And Overcame

I have been wondering all day how to answer this, and it’s true when people say sometimes the answer is right in front of you.

The challenge I’ve been facing for the last several months is my blog.

Being a blogger isn’t easy, especially if you want to take it seriously. When I first started blogging, I did it as a hobby, I wanted to document my recovery journey. I wanted to raise awareness.

It wasn’t even 6 months since I had started, that I began seeing ads for blogging courses, ebooks, and everything else, to know how to earn thousands from blogging.

It was off-putting and I swore to myself that I’d never buy anything like that because it just seemed so spammy.

Since then, my tunes have changed. Still, I never will buy anything that seems too far-fetched, ridiculously priced, and from someone I’ve never heard of.

Over the last few months, I’ve obtained many resources, mostly free via giveaways, advent calendars, etc. I’ve bought two courses that I do firmly believe will set me on the path I want to take.

I’ve been following both the creators behind these courses and the content they provide is invaluable, and I feel like they are hidden gems as I’m not sure if other bloggers know about them.

I know I’m straying off-topic, I’m sorry.

But what I’m trying to say is that being a blogger can be hard work. Yeah, you’ve probably got it all worked out and you’re doing really well with it. Congratulations, I mean it.

We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Most of us started out blogging not knowing what to do, what SEO or DA is. I still don’t know what some things are or mean, it takes time to learn all these things.

Blogging is a huge learning curve, constantly adapting, constantly growing.

How have I overcome the challenge that is being a blogger?

Acceptance. Accepting it is bloody hard at times. But I have plenty of resources to help me move forward and once I’ve reached a point of stability, then I plan to help others who currently feel like I do.

What’s a challenge you faced and overcame?
