Daisy (3 Months Old)
She’s getting so big!

Health Visitor
Our health visitor came out for Daisy’s 12 week appointment, well technically Daisy was 13 weeks old at this point but anyhoo… we knew Daisy would be weighed and Ewan guessed 12lbs, Mum guessed 12lbs 4oz, and I guessed 13lbs 5oz. Guess Mummy knows best as Daisy’s weight was 13lbs 3oz!
She spoke to us about when it’s time to introduce solid foods, so that will be interesting. I had a quick read on the website she told us about, First Step Nutrition, and I actually found it very interesting. I like how they display how foods would appear as smooth, mashed or finger food. That really helped me as I know I would get easily confused.
Overall, our chealth visitor is very pleased with Daisy’s development, and happy that my moods have improved significantally, so the next appointment will be when Daisy is 10 months old. So weird to think how big she will be!
New Laptop
After doing a lot of research, I finally settled on the ASUS 2-in-1 Chromebook 14 inch. This means I can use it as a laptop and a tablet. I’ve only used it the once as a tablet, and let me tell you, it’s the biggest one I’ve ever had! Get your heads out of the gutter…
It really is the perfect size, I can’t say anything to do with it’s size now after I made that comment… but it really is. It’s very sleek too. The keyboard is the right size, and the keys are nicely spaced out. I can’t see what’s on the keys but I’ve done plenty of typing over the years to know which keys are which. I’m really happy with it and it has increased my motivation massively, especially with writing.
Disabled and Pregnant – The First Trimester
I’m pleased to have finally published the first part of a new series – Disabled and Pregnant. Not sure how many parts there will be, I reckon 8 at the least. Disabled and Pregnant – The First Trimester covers everything leading up to our first scan. The First Trimester Continued will be published within the next couple of weeks so keep a look out!
Finally!
Not going to lie, this really made my day… I finally learnt how to put 2 images side by side on my blog! Woo! Only taken me over 2 years to realise, yes I know, I’m hopeless. I genuinely have no idea how things like that work, so I’m always looking for a simplified explanation as how to do things. Ashley, from Mental Health @ Home, very kindly shared with me her notes she made about CSS, I’m still trying to find time to read it through.
I’m actually ashamed to ask because everybody makes it look so easy, and I’m just sitting here like what am I doing wrong? Why has it taken me so long to realise? So if you know how to do all the fancy stuff on your blog, please feel free to share your tips and tricks, I would be forever grateful.
Guest Blog on Scope
I wrote a guest blog for Scope about our experience when I was just over 13 weeks pregnant. Inaccessibility, ignorance and lack of compassion – my experience at A&E is a detailed version of how we were treated, the ignorance we faced and the inaccessibility of A&E. This is the first time I’ve spoken openly and publicly about what happened, it was a very scary time for us but I wanted to talk about it because hospitals and some staff need to be more aware of how inaccessible departments actually are.
Also, I hope that nobody else gets treated the same way we did.
What’s Happening in March?
I suspect March will be emotional for me, as it marks 3 years since I was hospitalised, and it will also be 1 year since we found out we were having a baby! Strange how life pans out, ey?
I actually have posts scheduled throughout this month, feels good to plan ahead and be consistent. Hopefully this will be the way forward!
I’ll let you into a little secret, I’ve got 2 big opportunities coming up over the next few months and I’m so excited! Watch this space!
How was your month?
Coming Back on Friday 2nd April is ‘The Reality of…’ series!
Would you like to feature in the series and help to raise awareness of living with a disability, mental illness, learning disability, impairment, etc? Or any barriers you face as a disabled person or carer, etc? Please get in touch!
