My First Impression
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, then you’ll know I love quirky items and the Dodo Pad certainly oozes quirkiness! With a dash of traditional and nostalgic feel added in for good measure too. It looks eye-catching and colourful – clearly standing out from your standard diaries.
Upon opening the diary, on the left page is an introduction providing short briefs of how to use the grid layout, what types of writing instruments you can use (pens, pencils, etc) – This part did make me laugh because they didn’t hold back with suggesting what types you can use… all that I’ll say is that it goes from standard to leaving me wide-eyed very quickly!
A diary has never made me laugh before, there’s a first for everything!
The second page shows an example of how to use the week-to-view grid layout which really helped me because I am notorious for finding the simplest of things, the most complicated!
The pages are smooth (I like the texture of different types of pages!). Illustrations and snippets of humour are consistent throughout the diary, although some were difficult to read (due to my central vision loss), but my magnifier enables me to read them a bit more clearly.
I’ve only ever been used to going to the pound shop to buy my diaries – cheap and cheerful, does the job, nothing spectacular. So, when I found out the price of the Dodo Pad 2022 Diary, I did wince a little bit. The RRP is £17.99 – I personally wouldn’t normally spend that amount on a diary/organiser.
However, after learning about how the Dodo Pads’ products are sourced, about the company, and taking a few other factors into account, I’ve realised how much of a gem the Dodo Pad really is.
Being gifted the Dodo Pad 2022 Diary has taught me a valuable lesson. From here on out, I’m going to be more conscious of where I buy my stationery products from and how they are sourced.
Never thought I’d be taught a lesson by a diary… but there you go!
Plus stickers were included! How can I forget the stickers?! Before I took them out of the packaging, I was sceptical as I didn’t think there would be enough (considering I’m the one who remembers every birthday, any anniversaries and so forth) but it turns out there are 2 sheets of stickers and these will really help in making dates/days stand out.
