It feels like forever and a day since I last did a nomination/tag post. Do you remember them? They became too much and I ended up with 3 or 4 nominations at once and I couldn’t keep up. However, I do think they are very good for networking and finding new bloggers.
I only learned about the ‘This time next year’ tag quite recently, and I think it’s quite a nice one to participate in so I’m happy to be tagged!
Rules of the ‘This Time Next Year’ Tag
- Thank the person who tagged you.
- Write your goals for next year
- Write how you’re going to achieve these goals
- Tag at least 5 blogger friends
- This last one is optional, but in 365 days, write a post about whether or not you’ve been successful!
Thank You!
Thank you Katie for tagging me! Katie has 2 blogs, Life with Ktkinnes, and Christmas with Katie – a blog dedicated to Christmas if you hadn’t guessed!
My Goals
Like other bloggers who have participated in this tag, I will break down my goals into categories to make them easier for me to follow. The categories I’m going for are: Blogging, Me, Mental Health, Physical Health, and Volunteering.
Blogging
Several months back I wrote about my plans for Undercover Superhero and I’m really keen to implement them. I plan to have a consistent schedule that works for me and stick to it.
I’ve written before about being on benefits, which I am not ashamed of as they are there to help, but I would love to earn money from working in some form, whether that is by earning via my blog (discount codes/affiliate marketing/sponsored content/etc) or content creation for clients, I’m keen to pursue it further.
Me
People who know me really well, know that I never put myself first, I don’t make time to do things for myself. So I’ve been asking myself what do I want to do for ME that I always put off… Face masks (skincare kind) – never tried them but they’ve always piqued my curiosity. Watch every Marvel film and Disney+ series that I’ve not yet watched.
Yep, I may be a huge fan of Marvel but I’ve still not watched several films and I need to catch up but I always struggle to make the time.
Mental Health
If you know what I went through in 2018, you can probably guess that I’ve struggled with processing it. It’s nearly 4 years and I’m still finding it difficult. The flashbacks, the nightmares, the fear, I need help with it. I can’t fight it all on my own. So, I’ve reached out and asked for help and I will be having therapy in 2022.
Physical Health
I want to see what I can do next in physio. I recently took 61 steps by myself with my walking frame and this has been my biggest achievement yet in physio, I do have something specific to aim for but I won’t say in fear of jinxing it!

I want to lose weight, I have put more weight on since having Daisy and I don’t like feeling uncomfortable like this. I ‘could buy bigger clothes but I’d like to reach 12 or 12 and a half stone again.
Volunteering
Within my Ataxia UK Facebook group, I’ve almost been consistent in posting weekly and I’d like to continue being consistent and hopefully discover more people with Ataxia in Norfolk.
As some of you might know, I’m the social media volunteer with lABLEd Podcast and my goal is to implement a solid strategy to help them grow and reach a wider audience.
How I’m Going To Achieve Them
Consistent Schedule – I hope to achieve this by becoming more organised and creating regular reminders to help me get into a routine. But I also don’t want to be hard on myself if I stray a little bit or lose hope in this. “To Err is Human”
Earn My Own Income – I think I’ve just about got my head around discount codes and the next step is affiliate links. I’ve got a very comprehensive affiliate marketing course to get stuck in to which I’m excited about! I know and don’t expect this to all happen overnight, I know this will take time to understand and get the hang of.
I do want to point out that this will not coincide with my blog section, I want to have a separate space where I can still share my monthly round-ups, participate in tags and other things. Therefore, affiliate marketing will only take place in my Reviews, and possibly Disability, Marvel and Parenting sections.
Face Masks (skincare kind) – Try at least 3 within 2022, 1 in each quarter. Sounds simple enough. I can do it.
Catch Up on Marvel Films and Disney+ Series – Now this is going to take some planning as I can no longer watch them spontaneously as Ewan can. What people don’t know is that it takes a lot longer for me to watch films or anything on TV due to my hearing loss and central vision loss.
I need to watch things at a slower pace so I can read the subtitles and process what is happening. It’s very frustrating which is why I’ve missed out on a lot. Therefore, this needs a plan. Cap: “We need a plan of attack”. Iron Man: “I have a plan. Attack”
Avengers quote for you there! But yes, a plan. I will write down every film and show that I’ve missed, then decide if it is too much of a gap within storylines, that I’ll need to watch every film in order. So, beginning with Iron Man (from 2008)… it might take me a while, but I will do it!
Therapy – It was arranged a couple of weeks ago that I will be referred for Trauma-Focused CBT to help with my PTSD. I don’t know what to expect, so all I can say is I hope I’ve moved in the right direction, no matter how small, by this time next year.
Physio – Keep steadily pushing myself and keep working hard in both sessions and at home.
Losing Weight – I hope with a regular routine of physio both at rehab and at home, I can lose weight around my waist and hips, especially my hips because I don’t feel comfortable with how big they are. And maybe… a big maybe… my #TryItTuesday might make a comeback.
Ataxia UK Facebook Group – Continue to post in the group weekly by setting reminders in my calendar. Be more proactive in finding new members by promoting it across social media.
lABLEd Podcast – Over the last few months, I’ve been researching and observing trends on which marketing strategies work. Now I know not all marketing strategies produce the same results for everyone. I’m aware that it will take time, trial, and error. Once we find our own strategy that works, we’ll stick with it and keep at it until we next review it.
Bloomin’ heck, I wasn’t expecting this to be such a long post!
