The A-Z of Me

*Updating old content

As I thoroughly enjoy making lists, I thought this would be a fun and quirky way for you all to get to know me a bit better. I will go through the alphabet and for each letter, I will choose up to 5 words, beginning with that specific letter. This will include anything and everything I can think of!

Ami, Amusements & Avengers

My name, obviously. When I was younger, you could always find me at an amusement arcade, especially the 2p machines… actually, you probably will still find me there! I LOVE the Avengers – It was the first superhero film that made me fall in love with superheroes… and Loki.

Baffled, Blunt, Butterflies, Baked Beans & Badges

It doesn’t take a lot to baffle me. People who know me really well, they would say I am blunt and straight to the point. Butterflies are very special to me – not only do they represent growth, but they are my lucky charm too. I love baked beans, beans on toast, jacket potato and beans, they are very yummy! I’ve got a fast-growing collection of badges which I will share on my blog at some point, some funny badges, awareness badges, rude badges – my Etsy wish list is currently full of badges!

Charity, Chatty & Concerts

Charity has had a special place in my heart from the age of 15. I have volunteered with 3 different charities, Barnardo’s, Scope and Ataxia UK. When you get to know me, I can talk for England! During my childhood, I was fortunate to be able to attend 4 – 6 concerts a year, mainly Westlife, Boyzone, McFly, etc.

Digestives & Dogs

Digestives are my favourite biscuits. I have 2 dogs, Max & Molly, both Border Terrier cross Jack Russell – Max is more Border Terrier and Molly is more Jack Russell.

Ewan

Ewan is my husband, my best friend, my everything. I’m really grateful for him sticking by me and supporting me through everything since we’ve been together.

Fizzy-Free & Fundraising

I was addicted to fizzy drinks for as long as I can remember, I have been fizzy-free for almost 2 years now! I love fundraising and attending fundraisers, I love the atmosphere and they are so much fun!

Green, Gullible & Gamechanger

Green has become my favourite colour, especially emerald green. I am 100% gullible. I received the Gamechanger Award from Scope, my first ever award and I’m still convinced they got the wrong person!

Happy, Hopeful & Hungry

Considering what I have been through, especially in 2018, I am generally a happy person, unless I haven’t slept enough then I can be a tad moody, but who isn’t? I had always thought negatively towards the future but now I am very hopeful and looking forward to seeing what happens next. I get hungry very quickly, especially just after waking up from a nap.

Ice Cream & Irish

Love ice cream! Especially vanilla and strawberry. I have a soft spot for the Irish accent

Jokes

I love jokes, I am the sort of person to remember them in inappropriate situations and burst out laughing

Kind & Kung-Fu Panda

Everybody says I am kind, I like to think I am too! Kung-Fu Panda, don’t even get me started on that film. I will never watch it again, nope, never! That scene when he broke a floorboard – yeah, I jumped out of my seat… in a packed-out cinema! I couldn’t tell if everyone was laughing at me or at the scene!

Leggings, Lists & Loki

I stock up on leggings, I buy 5 pairs each time I go to Primark, which can be every few months. So, it may look like I am always wearing 1 pair but I do have loads of other pairs. I have always had an obsession with making lists – from an early age, each time a new Argos catalogue came out, I made a list of what I wanted and had no intention of buying them, ha! Unless it was for Christmas then I would be sure to make note of the catalogue number and the page number so my parents wouldn’t miss it. I adore the God of mischief, Loki, totally not because he is played by Tom Hiddleston!

Marvel, Mature & Motivated

Marvel is my favourite franchise. From an early age, people used to tell me that I was ‘too mature for my age’. I am 100% motivated to make the best out of what I can do and make the best out of my life

Nephews, Nieces, Notebooks & Nonograms

In total, Ewan and I have 11 nephews and nieces – they are our mini Avengers. I have come to the conclusion that I may have an obsession with notebooks, I currently have about 15… they’re just so pretty and useful! I’m addicted to nonograms, a couple of months ago I had no idea how to complete them, now I have an app on my tablet with endless nonograms. Passes the time very quickly!

Orange Juice

Orange juice is what helps start my day.

Passionate & Patient

No matter what I do, I give it my all and put my heart into it. I’ve always been a very patient person.

Questions

I have a tendency to ask the most bizarre questions. Ever since I was little, I have asked everyone ‘Why can’t I see myself unless I look in the mirror?’ It just baffles me!

Ridiculous, Romantic & Raising Awareness

Like above, I say the most ridiculous things – well not to me anyway. Deep down, I am a hopeless romantic. I’m absolutely driven to raising awareness, and I will continue to do so for as long as I live!

Scope, Sarcastic, Socks & Superheroes

Scope is a UK based charity with a vision to achieve equality for disabled people. I absolutely love what they do and I love being part of their online community. I am sarcastic, love a bit of banter – I think that’s the base of mine and Ewan’s relationship. I have an obsession with socks, not plain ones but pretty, novelty and character socks. If ever you see me in Primark, you will find me in the socks area as this is my #1 place to go to first! As you probably have gathered by now, I am obsessed with superheroes!

Tattoo, Twitter, Toast & Tom Hiddleston

I have 1 tattoo, a butterfly on my wrist, which initially represented my battle with Anorexia, but as more events have unfolded throughout the years, I look at it to remind me that no matter what, I will come out the other side stronger. Twitter is my favourite social media platform. Toast, I love toast, YUM! I LOVE Tom Hiddleston, he is an extraordinary actor and his handsome looks are a bonus too!

Undercover Superhero, Understanding & Underwear

Undercover Superhero is the name of my blog and I love my blog so much! I really don’t know where I would be today without it! I am a very understanding person. Like socks, I love pretty, novelty and character underwear.

Vans & Video Games

Vans are my favourite brand of shoes, I have 1 pair, for now. I did have a stunning pair of pale gold Vans to wear for the wedding, which I’ve now given to Marie because those shoes deserved to be danced in and I know she will dance to her hearts content in them. I used to love playing LEGO games, the first LEGO game I fell in love with was LEGO Batman and I made sure to get all the achievements and 100%!

Westlife, Wheelchair, Writing, Witty & Weddings

I have been a huge fan of Westlife since the age of 4 and it does break my heart that I can no longer hear their music. I am a wheelchair user. I was always told that my writing was terrible and it always had the same ending – it really is overwhelming that I now receive so much positive feedback about my writing, thank you all so much!

I like to think I’m witty, I am known for a few wise cracks here and there. After planning our wedding, I enjoyed it so much that I hope I can get involved with more wedding-related things!

XBOX

The XBOX was the first ever console I’d actually bought myself; I was absolutely devastated when it stopped working, but I had a blast playing various games on it!

Yellow & Youngest

I have always disliked the colour yellow. I am the youngest, I have 3 older sisters.

Zelda

I loved Zelda, it was my all-time favourite game on the Nintendo 64, especially Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.

Have you completed an A-Z list of things that are relevant to you? I’d love to read them!

Hey fellow superheroes! I'm Ami, I'm 24 and I live in Norfolk, UK. On my blog, UndercoverSuperhero, I openly talk about my recovery journey which stemmed from being in hospital and a specialist neurological rehabilitation centre for 9 months. I talk about how I maintain a positive mindset whilst coming to terms with my disability. I love superheroes, so much so that my partner and I are having a superhero themed wedding! I generally like to talk about anything and everything on my blog, I also have an ongoing series called "The Reality of..." which allows readers and bloggers to raise awareness of the disabilities, mental illnesses, chronic illnesses, impairments, that they live with as it is so important to raise awareness! Everybody has a voice! 💚

  1. Fast forwarding to 2020 – loved your upbeat alphabetic list of ‘All About You’. It was quite refreshing – so down-to-earth – such a positive attitude. Thanks for sharing bits and pieces of your life. 🙂

  2. LOVE IT! Yes, ‘The Avengers’ is amazing. I love ice cream too! In fact, it’s my favorite dessert next to cheesecake. I also have an Xbox and I love having it. Ha-ha, ‘Kung Fu Panda’. I love ‘Kung Fu Panda’!

Yeah, I love this post. Great idea. 👍

  3. Absolutely brilliant idea for letting everyone get to know you a little more, this was so much fun to read. I love how unique this approach is, usually it’s the same old same old but this has such a wide range of random information! Catching on specifically to the tattoo – what and where is your tattoo and what other’s would you like? I also have one, but have plans for more!

    1. Thanks so much! I know I keep repeating myself but it really was fun to do! I have a Butterfly on my wrist, I wanted one which represented overcoming a phase in my life – I would like a sleeve of more butterflies and maybe some branches 😁 definitely a Loki tattoo! What tattoo do you have and what other designs would you like? 😊

      1. Oh wow, LOVE that idea! I bet it would look absolutely stunning.

I have a realistic elephant on my left ribs.. I got her on the 10th anniversary of my Granny’s death (had been planning it for that entire time) as she loved elephants, and an “elephant never forgets”. The next two I want are Thumper and Miss Bunny (from the Disney film Bambi) at the bottoms of each leg, just a little higher than my ankle. I had two rabbits, Echo and Eden, so those are for my beloved fur babies. ❤

I know I'll want more after, but haven't planned much further than that as of yet ha ha. That first one definitely got me hooked! Oh, I do know I definitely want something to represent my daughter (but not her name or anything like that) also something Harry Potter.. My best friend and I have actually been talking about getting a matching HP one.

      2. I think so too! 😍

Was that painful? It sounds painful 😬 that is a really sweet gesture in memory of you Granny ❤ I will be honest, I have never seen Bambi but I know of Bambi and Thumper 🙈 I would love to get a tattoo of my Guinea pigs, Loki & Thor, they are my fur babies too!

I know what you mean, as soon as my first one was finished I wanted another but had no money left 😂 maybe a drawing she has done for you? That’s awesome! After we get married, my partner and I would like to get ‘Bound Together’ in Asgardian ❤

      3. Yes and no.. I’ve got a really high tolerance for pain, so I didn’t use numbing cream for the tattoo, much like I didn’t have pain relief when giving birth to my daughter either.. I honestly enjoyed the tattoo more than I probably should have, there were tickly parts! My friend that came with me thinks I’m crazy. I’d say it stung more than hurt, but that’s just me. That would be adorable! I’d love guinea pigs, they’re just so damn adorable!

That’s definitely an idea, she’ll be some sort of artist before long, she’s been drawing pictures for me for months already and she’s only 18 months. I have no idea what Asgardian is but that sounds adorable! 🙂
