Disclosure – After being gifted The Stationery Society’s Subscription Box (seaside-themed) to review, I subscribed and now pay quarterly for the subscription – as I really enjoyed reviewing their first box, I will continue to review each box. For once, I’m not quite sure how to begin this review. When the world entered its second year of battling against Covid, restrictions being lifted, and the devastating war in Ukraine… it doesn’t feel appropriate to be celebrating. I’ve been thinking for a while now about how to approach celebrations during difficult times, and although at first, it was not easy to find what we could celebrate, I realised the answer had been right in front of me all along.
Acts of kindness. Showing awareness and taking precautions to keep others safe. Floods of donations to support those who desperately need clothes and things that we use on a daily basis.
Seeing other people’s acts of kindness and taking responsibility has gradually restored hope. People do things simply because it’s the right thing to do. And I feel that should be celebrated.
To you, who continue to wear a mask and take precautions to keep others around you safe, thank you. To you, who have donated to support Ukraine, you are a wonderful human being.
Celebrate the good things in life, no matter how big or small. It can be anything that makes you smile, like the lovely goodies inside TSS’ Celebration-themed box!
The Stationery Society Subscription Box – Celebration Themed – Review
Cards by Isabel Canvas, Illayha Johnson & Lisa Kirkbride
This collection of celebration-themed cards is unique and can be used for a variety of celebrations and kept as keepsakes. My first thought when I looked at the card by Isabel (on the left) was that this card was created to celebrate girl power, and diversity. The things that make us different from each other should be celebrated, even if we were welcomed into the world to only be weird and wonderful, then so be it!
Illayha’s design (middle card) is minimalistic yet beautiful, it’s not over the top and its simplicity is what makes it unique. This card would be perfect for anyone who doesn’t like flashy cards and enjoys the finer things in life.
Lisa’s fireworks design (on the right) is definitely my cup of orange juice! I love fireworks for their beautiful displays and the reminders they give me – no matter where you come from, or where you are now, you can create something beautiful and colourful. You can be the one to light up someone’s day.
When you think about it, a firework usually comes out of a packet or box (before they’re set up, obviously) so they’ve been hidden away. They don’t know how beautiful they are, or how much of a difference they’ll make once they reach their full potential.
Fireworks are triggered and ignited to cause a reaction. Just like you and me when we least expect it.
But when a firework reaches their destination, they’re unstoppable and make the world stop and look at them. They’ve made an impact.
You can too when you know your potential.

The second I finished reading this quote ‘everyday is a new opportunity’, it reminded me of the mindset I lived by during 2019. After the life-changing year in 2018, I was immensely driven to make 2019 special, so as soon as New Year’s day arrived, I woke up from that day onwards throughout the entire year and asked myself the same question.
“How can I make a difference today?”
Whether it was volunteering, writing guest posts or articles, or even physio sessions – it made a difference to, not only me but other people too.
Maybe you don’t think the quote is true right now – I get it, I feel like that sometimes. But sometimes we need reminding and this A5 print would be a perfect reminder to wake up to every day.
Notepad by Unknown
Despite not being able to find the creator’s name on this notepad, my instinct is telling me that it’s one of Lisa Kirkbride’s designs as it’s very similar to her card design.
If you’re anything like me, then you adore notepads (or notebooks) and are a proud stationery lover!
The layout of the notepad is perfect for anyone who likes to have everything in one place, or on one page – no risk of losing that little sticky note that reminds you of something important. Again, I love the fireworks design and as it’s designed for daily tasks or appointments, it’s a little reminder of whatever happens during the week, if something doesn’t go to plan then there’s always a new day and a new week ahead.
