June 2022 Round Up

June 2022 Round Up

If you regularly read my monthly round ups then you’ll have noticed I didn’t post in May. Truth is, every time I went to add to it, I was just ranting. One good thing happened last month but I was too consumed by all the negativity going on that I couldn’t be bothered, simple as that.

Every which way I was turning, I just kept coming up against barriers. I temporarily lost access to my Business PayPal account – somehow I had violated their User Agreement… but all I did was set up an account, that was it, no money went in or out of it.

So I reported the email I got about my account closure, they didn’t reply to my emails so I took to Twitter. Ironically, they quickly replied to me on Twitter. I’ve now regained access but I still have no idea what I did.

Then I discovered MailerLite prohibits affiliate marketing and I was all set to switch email providers. But I reached out to them because their Terms of Use aren’t that clear, so I told them specifically what I would like to do with my email list and I do have confirmation that they allow what I wish to do.

I’ve been trying to set up my Etsy shop but I was stuck on a bloody name for ages, but I’ve finally settled on one now. Hopefully, by the time I’ve published this roundup, I will have a couple of products listed. I want my products to be affordable and under £10 but I’ve not yet worked out fees and whatnot yet.

But yeah, the harder I try, the harder I keep falling. Hopefully, June will be better.

Set Up My Fundraising Page

I had meant to publish the fundraising page when May began but I was struggling from burnout and I didn’t have the energy for it. Plus I had no idea how to write a fundraising page, what do you even put?

One afternoon I started writing it while watching Daisy run about, and the words just flowed. I know that sounds cliche but it’s true. Quite proud of how it turned out!

I know times are tough right now and if you’re unable to donate right now, please could you share my fundraising page? It will mean so much to me and especially if you’ve been following my blog from the beginning, you’ll know how much rehab means to me, but more so the staff too.

Please read, donate or share… thank you so much!

My Etsy Shop is Open!

I had been thinking of selling digital products for a while, but with no experience whatsoever, I had to learn a lot. I’ve taken many courses, attended virtual summits, and everything in between to try and learn as much as I can to set up my own Etsy shop.

Even though I had already opened the shop and listed my first product before creating a logo, it felt very very bare, but now I’ve finally settled on a logo…

Introducing…

Digitally Made For You Logo

Digitally Made For You (DigitallyMade4U on Etsy) will be selling printables, phone wallpapers, and digital planners/journals! Eeeek, exciting!! I aim to make products that are really affordable (£10 and under), but depending on custom-made (this is also something I’d love to do) and digital planners (which are hyperlinked, etc) and the time it takes to make them, I will charge a bit extra.

But not a huge amount, don’t worry!

Also, I will do everything I can to make as many products accessible, I’ve figured out how to create an easy but accessible version in Google Docs so will be adding them to the description in the listing.

It was originally going to be called Daisy Doo Designs, but someone had already nabbed it…

Creating printables has become something I really look forward to, and I’m really proud of what I create… which is rare!

Got My First Commission with Amazon Associates

Some of you will know I wanted to venture into affiliate marketing, and again it’s also something I’ve been taking courses on. I was naive to think you only needed to find a product that you personally use and would recommend, then share your affiliate link… but, oh my goodness, there is so SO much more to it.

At times I have found it all overwhelming to get my head around, and most of you know I struggle with information overload so this was a big challenge.

But I have been taking it really slowly and everything I’ve learned so far now starts to make sense. There’s still loads more to learn but I feel like I’m at a point where I can say, “Okay, this is what I need to do, I’ll work on this specific strategy and see what works or doesn’t”.

The one thing I have accepted now is I won’t instantly earn anything, it requires a lot of time and patience.

With everyone (near enough) using Amazon, I figured it was the best program to start with. And I am so relieved to have made my first affiliate commission this month!

Got 2 Sales on Etsy!

Oh my goodness, I was in disbelief! I kept refreshing my Etsy dashboard to see if it was a glitch! Am I sad that I teared up?

Got My First 5-Star Review!

Whaaaaat? Okay, NOW I’m crying.

Bed’s Gone

If you regularly read my monthly round ups, then you may remember late last year I was unable to sleep in the same bed as Ewan because it completely ruined my back. So I was given a hospital/profile/adjustable bed. And for several months, my back was pain-free…

But for the past few months, I kept waking up several times in the night with that same pain again, but this time, I could not move unless I used the control to recline the bed. When I would lay flat, my back would go into painful spasms and trigger a migraine.

I tried the bed at every angle possible, but every night I kept waking up in so much back pain, and thinking I was paralysed because I couldn’t sit up. It was bloody frightening.

I decided enough was enough, so the hospital bed is now gone and my recliner is now upstairs in our room. How long will I be sleeping in a recliner? Fuck knows…

I’m not going to lie, it is getting to me knowing I’ll be sleeping in a recliner for the foreseeable.

Got My Second Commission With Amazon!

Oh, okay! I wasn’t expecting the second one in the same month! Woop woop!

Daisy

There would be photos but Daisy is so quick now and barely sits still. She tries to run fast but her little feet (well, not little feet anymore, she has big feet!) can’t keep up with her yet which is comical. I’m so bad, I laugh at things I shouldn’t but can’t contain myself!

Like one time she was playing on her piano mat (it’s laid across the floor) and she went running up to it and tripped over the corner. First thing I said to mum and Ewan was, “She’s a triple minor”

I was crying with laughter, yes I do that at my own jokes. I was quite proud of how quick I thought of it. By the way, Daisy was okay, she got back up and started running about again.

But yeah, she’s full of mischief now. Little Miss Sassy Pants is her new nickname, I don’t know where she gets the sass from… Ewan, obviously.

What’s Happening in July?

Well… I don’t know actually but I keep getting this feeling that something really important is happening this month and I can’t for the life of me figure out what… which is bloody annoying! Do you feel like that sometimes? So frustrating isn’t it?

I’ve got a photoshoot to get some decent photos for my blog and whatnot. Who knows, I might even look professional?! Pfffff… as if! Hopefully, you’ll get to see them in July’s round up!

I’m hoping to list another product in my Etsy shop, it’s tracing sheets for kids – I used to love tracing, I’m surprised there aren’t any adult activity books with them in. I used to love the adult dot-to-dot books when I had full use of my vision, could quite easily spend hours completing them. Anyway, going off topic as usual…

What else?

I’m planning a huge overhaul of my blog, it’s all over the place and messy, no real structure to it so I’m going to get it sorted.

I’m sorry if you’ve not had any comments from me on your blog for the past few months, I’ve got a backlog of over 800 blog posts to read from the last couple of months but I know I won’t be able to read them all, so I’m sorry but hopefully I’ll be able to catch up on some this month.

How’s the last couple of months been for you? I’ve missed you all so much!
