October 2021 Round Up

Daisy (11 Months Old)

How on earth is our Little Avenger almost 1?! Just… what?? Madness.

Daisy’s at the point where she will grab anything and everything, distance is irrelevant as she will crawl over to whatever it is. Hmm… contemplating whether or not to change her nickname to Princess of Mischief… seems rather fitting, don’t you think?

Daisy smiling, laying on her superhero-themed milestone blanket with a red caption shape around the number 11, and a red caption shape around the word months

I will publish a post on her birthday which will include sooo many photos and videos, so will no doubt make my blog slow… you have been warned!

Neurologist

I finally had a face-to-face appointment with my neurologist after nearly… 2 years! Bloody hell, that’s long. Anyway, he was very happy to see me as always. He asked how Daisy was and I showed him a few photos to which he gushed over and said how beautiful she is – proud mummy!

Then onto the serious stuff… do I actually have Mitochondrial Disease? This has been tossing up and down in the pan for over 3 years now – I know I’m crap at cooking but this is taking the pee-pee now!

Nobody still knows for certain.. and I’m the only patient that has completely baffled him – fantastic! Where’s my noddy badge? Not kidding, I did actually say this to him and he had to stop taking notes because he was laughing. Let’s hope this detailed blood test I’m having next month actually gives me some answers, eh?

I asked about the Covid booster jab as I didn’t know if I was eligible, to be on the safe said, yes I will be having it. He still wants to continue seeing me which is a relief as I was worried if I would get discharged as we keep going around in circles.

But hey ho, we will see!

It’s Oh So Quiet..

As there wasn’t much else to write about this month, it allows me plenty of space to reveal what my big secret was! Although, I will write about the entire day in a separate post… you ready? Deep breaths people, I still can’t get my head around it!

If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, then you’ll know what my big secret was. You sure you’re ready?

I’m still so giddy hehe…

ZING! BOOM!

I met Tom Hiddleston!

It’s bloody surreal to type it. Oh my goodness, I met the God of Mischief, I met Tom Hiddleston!!! My heart is pounding just from writing it and I’ve lost my train of thought now…

I MEt TOM HIDDLESTON!!!!

Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. PLease tell me you’re screaming with me?!

Tom Hiddleston and Ami. Both smile and have one hand each placed on the plexiglass to make it seem that their hands are touching.

Oh my god, I cannot wait to write up properly and actually get my head around this… isn’t he beautiful?

I tell you something though, I didn’t have to ask him to kneel! I was well and truly star-struck, proper giddy, and lost all function.

I met Tom Hiddleston… still hasn’t sunk in.

We also met Sophia Di Martino who plays Sylvie, in the Disney+ series, Loki. Also, we had a photo with Charlie Cox, who is Daredevil on Netflix – Ewan had a little fangirl moment with Charlie which was super sweet!

I promise I will write up about this properly and it won’t just be “Oh my goodness, I met Tom Hiddleston” – Honestly, I will try my very best to contain myself.

Stop writing about Tom now, Ami because you have other things to write. Yes, I know, but Tom… Restrain yourself, woman! Well, Loki is in chains a lot… Oh dear god…

Physio

I think going to MCM was the boost I needed because I was unstoppable in physio! I told Sophie and my PT all about meeting Tom and showed them the photos. I’m watching you, Ami… don’t sidetrack! Okay, okay, chill!

I transferred from my powerchair to the plinth twice, with my walking frame and supervision, so nobody supported me. Then I walked the entire length of the bars – yes! AND, I turned myself around while holding on to the bars, I was very nervous about doing this as I hadn’t done it for, blimey… about 18 months!

But I did it and then walked another length with the bars… what?! Mega booster, it bloody knackered me though. The session has got me really hopeful for what I can achieve next!

Bed News

After the whole spider-geddon and problems with my back last month, I’ve been sleeping downstairs – on one hand, I’ve not been in any pain thankfully, but on the other hand, this has meant that I’ve not slept in the same bed as Ewan, and my insomnia has been kicking my butt real hard.

An OT (Occupational Therapist) came to do an assessment and I will be getting a new profile bed (adjustable bed) – that’s one part sorted, we just have to find a single bed to go alongside mine for Ewan. This means our room needs rearranging.

What’s Happening in November?

It’s Daisy’s first birthday!! Keep an eye out for lots of photos and videos of her first year. We’re not doing anything big as she gets very excited over the smallest things (wonder where she gets that from…) and we don’t see the point in throwing a big party, having an expensive cake made which she won’t eat.

I’m going off on a tangent there, but all we are doing is a small celebration. With everything going to plan, we should be going to see Ewan’s aunt and uncle so they can finally meet Daisy and have a long catch-up.

I have my Covid booster and flu jab booked on the same day. Not particularly noteworthy but still. I’m really hoping to get some reviews written up, I just don’t know where the time goes anymore, it seems to go by in a nanosecond.

More physio, oh and my MRI and detailed blood test.

I think that’s it… but I doubt anything will ever top meeting Tom Hiddleston! Well, one thing would, I would love to have a proper conversation with him as we hardly had time to talk and I found it a bit difficult with my hearing loss, but I’ll explain more on that in a separate post.

… and a hug too, oh I would love to hug Tom! One day I hope!

How’s your October been?
